And I have a story for SSC 26; yes, it's the same one I was working on yesterday, just didn't realize that I'd be able to use it until I was thinking about the triggers again this morning and suddenly realized that it totally fit the second trigger. So I'm going to try to finish it today, so I'll have time to do a quick second draft of the story I want to submit for the polish challenge.

So I worked all day and got a draft of my story for the SSC done. It came in slightly longer than I'd originally thought it would, but it's still in short story range so I'm happy. I think it turned out better than I thought it would, but it still needs quite a bit of work and I have to gel the theme a bit more than I have it right now. But I've also decided that I'm probably not going to shoot for the polish challenge too, since it could result in having to do a ton of reading. I might just do my rewrite when I feel a little less rushed and send it off to a few people for their opinions, then get it out to market. I have some friends to read anyway (I got my copy of ASIM in recording timing. I wasn't expecting it for at least two weeks, since it was coming from Australia, but there it was in my mailbox today. The backcover was torn--got stuck to the envelope's sticky--and for the amount of money I paid for this, that really irritates me. If this were through Amazon, I'd send back and demand a replacement.). Dana was enamored with the unicorn on the front and has been poking at me for the last hour to hurry up and read aliettedb's unicorn story so I can determine if it's something I can read to her or not.
